Our decaffeinated coffee is chosen for specialty coffee lovers who don't want to compromise. Tasted blind by a group of industry experts, it fooled many who failed to detect that it was decaffeinated !
Here's how the producers describe it:
"This coffee is an intentional union of different micro-lots that highlight the unique and specific sensory attributes of Huila and Narino in Colombia. It was decaffeinated at the Descafecol decaffeination plant in Manizales. The ethyl acetate decaffeination process uses a naturally derived solvent made from sugarcane, blackberry, and beet. The coffee is steamed and then rinsed repeatedly with the EA solution to remove caffeine, before being dried and sealed with a natural wax. We believe this process preserves the characteristic characters we love in the intrinsic qualities of these coffees, while also introducing a bit of sweetness and complexity."
