Gouin: Colombian excellence in a cup
Our new coffee bean, Gouin, inspired by this iconic boulevard so beloved by cyclists, will introduce you to the complex and clean aromas of Colombian pink Bourbon. Cultivated by a group of dedicated producers; Augusto Ortega, Marleny Galindez, Dani Gomez, Oscar Hoyos, Milton Ortega, Andres Munoz, Fredi Ortega, Carolina Samboni, and Diever Galindez in the Kennedy, Sevilla, La Muralla, and Nazareth regions of San Agustín, Huila, this coffee is a testament to their expertise.
Each producer brings their own unique methods to the bean before delivering it to the Monkaaba bodega, where it is analyzed, tasted, and selected for this single-origin batch. The result is an exceptional coffee with notes of peach, quince, and subtle accents of barley sugar. Perfect as a filter, pour-over, or even an espresso.
The initiative behind this coffee, known as Las Nubes, aims to support small producers by purchasing their high-quality coffee despite the small batch sizes. This ensures coffee producers are fairly compensated by preventing their high-quality beans from being blended into large regional batches anonymously, thus losing all value.
Las Nubes allows the community to grow, learn, and help each other, and offers even the youngest players a chance to improve their skills and secure their future by selling their beans at a good price.
