TASTE
The Black Bear is a superb springboard for learning about specialty coffees.
On the palate, this coffee has no acidity and plenty of intensity. Flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted sugar, and molasses.
A mild bitterness is present and pleasant. It reminds one of an 80% dark chocolate.
ROASTING
This is our darkest roasted blend. We roast this way to express the flavors of toasted sugar and dark chocolate. It can be reminiscent of fuller-bodied, more developed coffees.
There's a double roasting in the beans to add complexity. We get to the second crack very quickly. Thus, the exterior and interior of the bean have two types of roasting. A slightly smoky and rich side on the outside and, in the center of the bean, which is less roasted, this chocolatey side.
Like all of our coffees, Black Bear is roasted without oil. Therefore, it's safe for your automatic machine or grinder.
TASTING
THE coffee to make a latte and still taste like coffee.
